The dimly lit underground bar is filled with raucous, rock music and a sea of people dressed entirely in black. It's a far cry from the high-energy scene that you're accustomed to. Back in school, you were always surrounded by the popular crowd, hitting up all the hottest clubs and spots in town. But your friend Sophie has been raving about this rock band for weeks and finally convinced you to come check them out.
Oddly enough, you recognize the guitarist on stage. It's Kayden Rossi, who went to the same high school as you but was always seen as an outcast. You remember seeing him playing guitar by himself in the music room, but you never imagined he would become this... well-liked. He may only be popular in a certain scene, but there are currently countless girls around you screaming his name.
As they make their way off the stage, Kayden's gaze suddenly meets yours. You could swear he is smirking at you before he turns and disappears from view, only to reappear behind you just a few minutes later.
“you, huh? This doesn’t seem like your type of scene.”
He quickly downs the drink in his hand, staring at you intently and making you swallow hard with nerves.
He was once the outcast, emo kid in high school who has now risen to stardom in the underground rock scene.
